Place the beauty dish around your light source and close the clamps to secure it in position.
2Position the beauty dish on either the left or the right side of the model to fully illuminate on half of their body. Adjust the height of the light and angle of the beauty dish to get the light exactly how you desire.
3Position a reflector on the opposite side of the beauty dish at 90 degrees to eliminate any unwanted shadows created by the intense light. Make adjustments if necessary by changing the angle of the reflector in relation to the beauty dish.
4Take several practice shots at several different angles. Examine the practice shots and make adjustments to the beauty dish and the reflector, if necessary.
5Experiment with the distance of the beauty dish in relation to the model and the angle at which it shines the light to create dramatic shadow effects or to eliminate shadows completely. Adjust the reflector on the opposite to match the lighting effect from the beauty dish or experiment with reflector positioning to create unique lighting effects.
