Vampires are popular today. From Bram Stoker to Anne Rice to Twilight, vampires come in countless shapes and styles, and they appear in books, on television and in movies. Thanks to your favorite image editing program, your friends and family will be able to join the legions of vampires, without having to spill a drop of blood.

Open your image in Photoshop, The Gimp, or another editing program. For the best results, use a photo where the subject is showing off teeth.
2Use the Zoom tool to magnify the teeth in the image.
3Use the Selector tool to select the point of the canine tooth. Start from the point of the tooth, and select everything to about the middle of the tooth.
4Use the Transform tool to stretch your selection downward. Be creative; pull the tooth straight down for a traditional fang, or curve it for a more snakelike look. In Photoshop, the best tools are Skew and Distort; both are on the Transform menu in the Edit pulldown. In The Gimp, pull down Tools, select Transform Tools, and then select Shear or Perspective. Most other programs should have a similar feature.
5Move to the other canine, and transform it the same way. When the teeth look good and sharp, zoom back out to see the entire image.
6If you're using Photoshop, switch to the Sponge tool. Set the Mode to Desaturate and the flow to about 50 to 75 percent. Desaturate means "remove color," so as you apply this, you'll make your subject appear dead. Just think of it as applying make-up, but avoid the eyes.
Most other programs don't have Photoshop's sponge tool, so this step could be a bit more difficult. Just remember that you want to remove color from the skin, without removing it from the area near the eyes. Try using the Selector tool to focus just on the skin, and then Desaturate the selection.
7Use the Burn tool to darken the skin around the eyes. Make the eye sockets nice and dark, so that the eyes appear sunken and menacing. Most programs have a Burn tool or something similar; it's used to bring more color into the selection.
