How to Clean a Canon EOS-1Ds Digital Chip

Cleaning an EOS-1Ds Digital chip is something only a professional should do. The chip, which features on-chip noise reduction, a process that reduces pixel noise in the processor, is embedded in the heart of the camera itself, among all the wiring and computer board components. You will have to strip the camera down to the frame, remove the chip or clean it on the board.

Instructions

Charge your battery and turn on the camera.

Go to the camera menu and select "Sensor Cleaning", then select "OK."

Remove the lens, and notice that the sensor is raised inside the camera.

Apply a drop of CMOS sensor cleaning fluid to a sensor cleaning swab. Then swipe the swab along the sensor, once to the right and once to the left.

Attach the lens and set the camera back to shooting mode.
