Photographs shot in a light box provide professional-looking images with clear, white backgrounds and little or no shadows. Such photographs are perfect for artistic shots or for highlighting products you want to sell on eBay or your own website. The pure white background blends in easily with white backgrounds on websites or printed pages. The light box has an all-white interior and surrounds the object you are taking a picture of with openings for your camera lens and the light source(s). You can buy light boxes or make your own.

Position the object you want to photograph in the center of the "floor" of the light box.
2Position your light source(s) so that your subject is evenly lit with no shadows. Your light box should have either holes for your light source or walls that are thin enough to allow diffused light to come through. The all-white interior of the light box will reflect light, illuminating your subject from every angle, casting no shadows except directly beneath the subject. Even these shadows will have soft edges.
3Shoot your pictures. Try moving the object to shoot it from different angles. Also try changing the angle of the light source(s) for different effects. Transparent objects, such as glasses, have more depth when they are lit only from the back. Shoot lots of pictures to see what works best. If you are using a digital camera you can delete any shots you don't like.
4Import your photos into your computer and crop as close as possible--unless you intend to add text over part of the background. You also might need to brighten the picture to make the background pure white if your picture will have to blend in with a white page either on the Internet or in print.
