How to Edit & Enhance Photos

The wide variety of photo editing software programs available on computers now means that enhancing and adjusting photos is an easy, user-friendly undertaking. The advent of these programs, of course, changes the nature of photography, since the ability to adjust the photos in post-production means that less importance is placed on the initial photograph. All aspects lacking in the original photo, such as the amount of light, or color, can be changed after the photo is taken.

Instructions

    Connect your digital camera's USB lead into the socket in the side of the camera, and then connect the other end to your computer's USB port.

    Open your computer's photo software program, by clicking on its icon in your task bar. Switch on your camera and the photos on it should import automatically, if this odes not happen select "File", then "Import to Library" from the drop-down menu.

    Go to your photo library by selecting "Library" at the top left-hand side of he screen, under the "Sources" heading. Highlight the photo you wish to edit by clicking on it.

    Select the "Edit" tab which, on iPhoto, is in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, denoted by a pencil lying diagonally across a blue photo symbol.

    Edit your photo in the new screen by using the "Rotate," "Crop," "Enhance," "Red-Eye," "Retouch," "Effects," or "Adjust" tools.

    Highlight your next photo to be edited, or otherwise click outside the current photo and iPhoto will automatically "Save Changes."
