External hard drives are devices that let you back up and store data from your computer. It is easy to retrieve and use data stored on external hard drives. If you are working on an iMovie project and need photos from an external drive, in a few steps you can move the pictures into your iMovie project.

Instructions

    1

Turn on your computer and connect your external hard drive to it.

    2

Locate the photos you need on your external hard drive by opening the "Photo" or "Pictures" section of your stored data then finding the appropriate folder.

    3

    5
